In internet land, yesterday's news is today's viral web hit, especially when it involves a chance to poke fun at US President George Bush.
Within hours of the now infamous shoe-throwing incident - or "shoegate", as it was inevitably labelled - online hoons began remixing the footage into funny animated images and at least two online games.
In the first game, created by mischief makers in France, players assume the role of Bush and earn points depending on how long they can dodge shoes, which fly at him at a rapidly increasing frequency.

In the second game, Bush's Boot Camp, the shoe, so to speak, is on the other foot, with players taking the role of a gun-toting security agent who must shoot the flying shoes before they reach the President.
Others have used Photoshop to create animated images of the footage mashed together with other pop culture references, which have been published in online forums and blogs.
In the various images, Bush is shown dodging the foot from Monty Python, a ball from the cartoon Pokemon, a cat, snowball, cartoon bomb and the deadly shoe from Austin Powers.
More creative web users have remixed the footage to resemble scenes from The Three Stooges and the video games World Of Warcraft and Mortal Kombat.
At the time of writing, 14 of the top 20 most viewed clips on YouTube today show footage from the incident.
"This is going viral at a rapid pace, unlike anything I've seen post-election," David Burch, marketing manager for YouTube tracker TubeMogul, told The Washington Times.
"People are uploading videos of the incident to YouTube at an average rate of 209 per hour. Currently, there are over 5000 versions, totalling over 8,145,000 views," he said.
In the real-life incident, which occurred during a press conference in Baghdad on Sunday, Iraqi journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi threw two pieces of flying size-10 footwear that narrowly missed Bush's head. Soles of shoes are considered the ultimate insult in Arab culture.
Bush laughed off the incident with a pun, saying: "I don't know what the guy said, but I saw his sole."
The journalist is in jail while officials decide whether to charge him, sparking an uproar in Baghdad.
The internet furore mirrors the online reaction to former French soccer captain Zinedine Zidane headbutting Italy's Marco Materazzi after a heated exchange during the 2006 World Cup.
More recently, during the US presidential election campaign, an acutely embarrassing photograph of Senator John McCain caught with his tongue hanging out was pitilessly modified to create hundreds of hilarious spoof images.
And when Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was forced to dodge eggs hurled at him by an irate Hungarian student earlier this year, the incident was quickly used as the basis of a web gamecalled Egg Attack.

I am starting to ? if we can keep publishing this site... Its taken too much free time, and drains me of creativity. Basiclly I give my heart and soul and have had NO response from you, the reader??? I am not posting any more entries until we see a decent request or hear back from fans of the site. Sorry if I have not made this interactive, I tried to create a good source for my interest and the things I thought would be viral and intresting to all.

I offered free stuff, music, links, traffic, gas, ideas, content, and fun. I tried to give back and you guys did not participate in the sites growth. If you liked us we need to hear that, and so do friends, spread the Well around if not email us or fill the survey out with disliked. I spent my own money and time for the last 6 months please do this if you ever got anything from our publication Thanks, and Best Wishes.

How to Discover Your Life Purpose in About 20 Minutes

How do you discover your real purpose in life? I’m not talking about your job, your daily responsibilities, or even your long-term goals. I mean the real reason why you’re here at all — the very reason you exist.

Perhaps you’re a rather nihilistic person who doesn’t believe you have a purpose and that life has no meaning. Doesn’t matter. Not believing that you have a purpose won’t prevent you from discovering it, just as a lack of belief in gravity won’t prevent you from tripping. All that a lack of belief will do is make it take longer, so if you’re one of those people, just change the number 20 in the title of this blog entry to 40 (or 60 if you’re really stubborn). Most likely though if you don’t believe you have a purpose, then you probably won’t believe what I’m saying anyway, but even so, what’s the risk of investing an hour just in case?

Here’s a story about Bruce Lee which sets the stage for this little exercise. A master martial artist asked Bruce to teach him everything Bruce knew about martial arts. Bruce held up two cups, both filled with liquid. “The first cup,” said Bruce, “represents all of your knowledge about martial arts. The second cup represents all of my knowledge about martial arts. If you want to fill your cup with my knowledge, you must first empty your cup of your knowledge.”

If you want to discover your true purpose in life, you must first empty your mind of all the false purposes you’ve been taught (including the idea that you may have no purpose at all).

So how to discover your purpose in life? While there are many ways to do this, some of them fairly involved, here is one of the simplest that anyone can do. The more open you are to this process, and the more you expect it to work, the faster it will work for you. But not being open to it or having doubts about it or thinking it’s an entirely idiotic and meaningless waste of time won’t prevent it from working as long as you stick with it — again, it will just take longer to converge.

Here’s what to do:

Take out a blank sheet of paper or open up a word processor where you can type (I prefer the latter because it’s faster).
Write at the top, “What is my true purpose in life?”
Write an answer (any answer) that pops into your head. It doesn’t have to be a complete sentence. A short phrase is fine.
Repeat step 3 until you write the answer that makes you cry. This is your purpose.

That’s it. It doesn’t matter if you’re a counselor or an engineer or a bodybuilder. To some people this exercise will make perfect sense. To others it will seem utterly stupid. Usually it takes 15-20 minutes to clear your head of all the clutter and the social conditioning about what you think your purpose in life is. The false answers will come from your mind and your memories. But when the true answer finally arrives, it will feel like it’s coming to you from a different source entirely.

For those who are very entrenched in low-awareness living, it will take a lot longer to get all the false answers out, possibly more than an hour. But if you persist, after 100 or 200 or maybe even 500 answers, you’ll be struck by the answer that causes you to surge with emotion, the answer that breaks you. If you’ve never done this, it may very well sound silly to you. So let it seem silly, and do it anyway.

As you go through this process, some of your answers will be very similar. You may even re-list previous answers. Then you might head off on a new tangent and generate 10-20 more answers along some other theme. And that’s fine. You can list whatever answer pops into your head as long as you just keep writing.

At some point during the process (typically after about 50-100 answers), you may want to quit and just can’t see it converging. You may feel the urge to get up and make an excuse to do something else. That’s normal. Push past this resistance, and just keep writing. The feeling of resistance will eventually pass.

You may also discover a few answers that seem to give you a mini-surge of emotion, but they don’t quite make you cry — they’re just a bit off. Highlight those answers as you go along, so you can come back to them to generate new permutations. Each reflects a piece of your purpose, but individually they aren’t complete. When you start getting these kinds of answers, it just means you’re getting warm. Keep going.

It’s important to do this alone and with no interruptions. If you’re a nihilist, then feel free to start with the answer, “I don’t have a purpose,” or “Life is meaningless,” and take it from there. If you keep at it, you’ll still eventually converge.

When I did this exercise, it took me about 25 minutes, and I reached my final answer at step 106. Partial pieces of the answer (mini-surges) appeared at steps 17, 39, and 53, and then the bulk of it fell into place and was refined through steps 100-106. I felt the feeling of resistance (wanting to get up and do something else, expecting the process to fail, feeling very impatient and even irritated) around steps 55-60. At step 80 I took a 2-minute break to close my eyes, relax, clear my mind, and to focus on the intention for the answer to come to me — this was helpful as the answers I received after this break began to have greater clarity.

Here was my final answer: to live consciously and courageously, to resonate with love and compassion, to awaken the great spirits within others, and to leave this world in peace.

When you find your own unique answer to the question of why you’re here, you will feel it resonate with you deeply. The words will seem to have a special energy to you, and you will feel that energy whenever you read them.

Discovering your purpose is the easy part. The hard part is keeping it with you on a daily basis and working on yourself to the point where you become that purpose.

If you’re inclined to ask why this little process works, just put that question aside until after you’ve successfully completed it. Once you’ve done that, you’ll probably have your own answer to why it works. Most likely if you ask 10 different people why this works (people who’ve successfully completed it), you’ll get 10 different answers, all filtered through their individual belief systems, and each will contain its own reflection of truth.

Obviously, this process won’t work if you quit before convergence. I’d guesstimate that 80-90% of people should achieve convergence in less than an hour. If you’re really entrenched in your beliefs and resistant to the process, maybe it will take you 5 sessions and 3 hours, but I suspect that such people will simply quit early (like within the first 15 minutes) or won’t even attempt it at all. But if you’re drawn to read this blog (and haven’t been inclined to ban it from your life yet), then it’s doubtful you fall into this group.

Give it a shot! At the very least, you’ll learn one of two things: your true purpose in life -or- that you should unsubscribe from this blog. " class="wp-smiley" style="padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; max-width: 100%; ">

The next version of Microsoft's much criticised Internet Explorer browser is being built to resist hijacking attempts by spyware and other malicious software, according to a Microsoft developer.

Rob Franco, lead program manager for IE Security at Microsoft, confirmed in a blog entry on Thursday that IE7 for Longhorn will contain a feature called 'low-rights', which essentially removes admin rights so that the system will not allow unknown applications, such as spyware and other potentially dangerous code, to be installed without express permission from the user.

"When users run programs with limited user privileges, they are safer from attack than when they run with administrator privileges because Windows can restrict the malicious code from taking damaging actions... Any programs that the user downloads and runs will be limited by User Account Protection, unless the user explicitly gives the program Administrator privileges," said Franco.

Franco said that by restricting admin rights for Web surfers, users will be protected even if a malicious Web site tries to exploit a vulnerability in the browser.

"The Web site's code won't have enough privileges to install software, copy files to startup folder, or hijack the settings for the browser's homepage or search provider. The primary goal of Low Rights IE is to restrict the impact of a security vulnerability... It can limit the damage a vulnerability can do,' said Franco.

James Turner, security analyst at Frost & Sullivan Australia, said restricting admin rights is a very important development and one that Microsoft has been extremely slow to pursue.

"A Unix administrator would not dream of working in root as standard. We only logged in as root when something special/unusual needed to happen. It's been an issue for Windows administrators for years that standard users just shouldn't have local admin power," said Turner.

Microsoft's Franco confirmed that although IE7 will be made available for Windows XP SP2, the low rights browsing feature will only be available on the next version of Windows, codenamed Longhorn.

A medical examiner found evidence among a child's remains that link them to the home of a missing toddler, the county sheriff said Friday, offering the strongest indication yet that the remains may be those of Caylee Anthony.

Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said investigators searched the home early Friday after the medical examiner found "some clues that came out of the remains" that "linked it to the house." He would not say what clues were found.

"We took some things out of the house that the forensic people are very interested in," he said.

The remains were found Thursday by a utility worker on a wooded lot less than a half-mile from the house where 3-year-old Caylee lived with her grandparents and her mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony.

Casey Anthony was charged in October with first-degree murder, even though the toddler's body hadn't yet been found. She has insisted that she left the girl with a baby sitter in June, but she didn't report Caylee missing until July.

Beary said his investigators and the FBI would work around the clock and through the weekend to identify the child.

Asked if he believed if the remains are Caylee, Beary said: "I think it's a good possibility, but I have to wait seven to 14 days for the DNA analysis."

There are no other similar missing-child cases in the area.

"I say my prayers every day and one of them is to solve this case," said Beary, who is retiring in January. "I just hope that we solve the case on my watch."

A judge denied a motion Friday filed by the defense to inspect the remains, saying they must wait for a positive identification.

If the skull found in an area that had until recently been flooded proves to be Caylee's, prosecutors will have the crucial evidence they need to convict Casey Anthony, legal experts said.

"If the defense had been able to go to trial without a body being discovered, hopes for reasonable doubt might have been compelling," former U.S. Attorney Kendall Coffey said. "(But) if the body proves to be Caylee, then it immediately becomes an uphill case for the defense."

Prosecutors announced last week that they would not seek the death penalty against Casey Anthony. Even if the remains are Caylee's, experts said it was unlikely the state would reverse its decision because prosecutors still have not determined a motive.

A spokeswoman with the state attorney's office said Thursday that officials wouldn't comment until the investigation was complete.

For the past several months, Anthony's family, police and volunteers from around the country have searched for the little girl.

Casey Anthony has insisted that she left the girl with a baby sitter in June, but she didn't report her missing until July. She was told about the discovery in jail on Thursday, and was placed under psychological observation -- not suicide watch. Her attorney, Jose Baez, visited her and did not return calls seeking comment.

The child's grandmother first called authorities in July to say that she hadn't seen Caylee for a month, and that her daughter's car smelled like death.

Police immediately interviewed Anthony and said that everything she told them about her daughter's whereabouts was false. The baby sitter was nonexistent, and the apartment where Anthony said she had last seen Caylee had been empty for months. Anthony also lied about where she worked.

As the case unfolded, troubling details emerged: Photos surfaced of Anthony partying after her daughter went missing. Friends said she was a habitual liar, but also a good mother.

Last month, the Orange County State Attorney turned over almost 800 pages of documents, which showed someone at the Anthony home had done Internet searches for terms like "neck breaking" and "household weapons."

In mid-March, someone used the Anthonys' home laptop to search Google and Wikipedia for peroxide, shovels, acetone, alcohol and chloroform. Traces of chloroform, which is used to induce unconsciousness and is a component of human decomposition, were found in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car during forensic testing, the documents said.
